Soft Lad is a collaboration between Derbyshire-based musicians Kieran Smith (Ichabod Wolf) and Lewis Young (My Pleasure), a pair of soft lads who would rather spend their time ranking The Beatles’ albums and playing video games than working 9 to 5. The project was born of a mutual admiration of one another’s music. Together, they write playful pop songs about being perennially dissatisfied, socially awkward thirty-somethings in the 21st century. They hope you’ll agree, that even in tough times, it’s okay to be a Soft Lad.
